We also handle the processing of all criminal and civil subpoenas in St. Helena Parish and handle all the paperwork associated with movable and immovable property seizures.

This office handles Sheriff’s sales as well as other seizures, including garnishments and evictions. This office is responsible for preparing seizure papers and distributing them to the Civil Deputy to be served. This office schedules the Sheriff’s sales, advertising in the St. Helena Echo newspaper and holds the Sheriff’s sale on the designated dates.

The Sheriff is the ex-officio collector of state and parish ad valorem taxes, property taxes, license fees and traffic fines as provided by law. As tax collector, the Sheriff also conducts the sale of property for nonpayment of taxes. These taxes, fees and fines are collected and disbursed to several taxing authorities.

This office is also responsible for obtaining all offense and accident reports. These reports are available for victims, complainants and insurance companies for a fee.
