Louisiana Sheriff's
 Program
The Louisiana Sheriff's Office Scholarship Program will
award scholarships providing assistance to worthy
Louisiana students in furthering their education
and training with resources made available through the
Louisiana Sheriff's Honoary Membership Program.
Scholarships of a maximum of $500.00 each will be awarded
to graduating high school students from each parish where the
Sheriff is an affiliate of the Honorary Membership Program.
There are no restrictions on the purposes for which scholarships
are spent. The scholarships are not loans and will be awarded as
gifts to defray the rising cost of tuition and related expenses in
higher education. The only limitations are that the applicant be a
permanent resident of Louisiana; scholarships be utilized in higher
education within the state of Louisiana, and students be enrolled as
full-time, undergraduate students.
Completed applications must be submitted to the Sheriff of the parish
of the applicant's permanent Louisiana residency by April 1, 2010.
Further, applicants must be eligible for admission to the school indicated
on the application. The award will only be paid for attendance at an
institution of higher learning within the state. All winners will be
announced by May 1st.
SHSO looking for Santa's Helpers

The. St. Helena Parish Sheriff's Office, business associates, and local organizations are working together to make Christmas a special time for about 200 children and their familes. If you would like to join us and be a "Santa's Helper" and share the spirit of Christmas with those who need help, please give a monetary donation or a toy.
For monetary donations, please send this gift to the St. Helena Parish Sheriff's Office at P.O. Box 1205, Greensburg, LA 70441 marked ATTN: "Santa Helper". If dropping off a toy, please do so at the Sheriff's Administration Office at 53 S Main St. Suite C, or call 225-222-4412, ext 228 and someone will go by and pick it up.
If your child and /or children will be needing "help" this Christmas, please go by the Sheriff's Administration Office and pick up an application.
This program is for St. Helena Parish residents only. Applicants must show poof of address, and must provide verification of income. Only parents/legal guardians may apply for dependents from birth to 12 years. Incomplete form will not be accepted. Families with more than 6 children must complete two forms.
Applications wil be accepted Monday-Friday November 16th through December 9th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Toys can only be provided according to the amount of donations received. All applicants may not receive any toys. Children must be present to accept toys.
Remember: No application - no toys.

For those whose applications have been accepted, Santa will be at the Sheriff's Office on Hamberlin and Main on December 22, 2009 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Bring your children to meet Santa and receive their gifts.
