JUVENILE SERVICES

Juvenile Services is overseen by a supervisor, and includes one assistant supervisor, and five deputies and hosts a broad series of programs that covers early intervention programs, investigations, school violence preventions and a outreach program.
Juvenile Services works to provide full investigative, counseling, rehabilitation and referral services to area youths that come in contact with law enforcement.  The JS Supervisor acts as a program coordinator for School Resource Officers throughout the parish.  The officers monitor the day-to-day activities of the school, document and report criminal activities on school property, foster student law enforcement relationship and teach children juvenile laws. The Officers collaborate on ongoing student trends, problems at schools, and efforts to provide appropriate service to the sutdent and administraters they serve.
Juvenile Services works to provide comprehensive investigative, counseling, rehabilitation and referral services to area youths that come in contact with law enforcement. In concert with the goals of the Juvenile Court System to rehabilitate youthful offenders, the Juvenile Services of the St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Department works very hard to divert juvenile offenders away from the criminal justice system into alternative programs.
